Salman and Ranbir lose grandmothers

Both passed away on Aug 25

Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor both lost their maternal grandmothers on Tuesday, August 25.

Neetu Kapoor’s mother, Rajee Singh, 71, had been staying with Rishi Kapoor and Neetu at their bungalow Krishna. She died of a cardiac arrest.

Rajee Singh was a familiar figure in Bollywood in the 1970s when Neetu was one of the top heroines. She would often be seen escorting her star daughter.

Ranbir’s girlfriend Deepika Padukone, who was scheduled to leave for Italy on Tuesday, cancelled her flight and spent the day with the mourning family.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan’s maternal grandmother too died the same day. She was 91 years old.

His mom Salma Khan was by her mother’s when she passed away. Salman apparently had visited his grandmother’s Mahim residence just a few hours before she died.
